The MadCatz Retrocon Controller

This controller doesn't really belong in this chart as it's not a first party controller (it's not made by the manufacturer of a game console), but it's a pretty neat idea so I threw it in anyway.

Basically, what you get is a ful featured PS2 controller packaged into a case reminiscent of the NES controller. Perhaps it's a sign of the times, where people are reminiscing the good old days even when playing new systems.

Maybe it's a sign of things to come - that the current controllers are getting too complex and and things need to get simplified a bit.

In this tiny package, are all the features and buttons available on the PS2 controller - right down to the twin clickable analog thumb sticks, four shoulder buttons and even the vibration function. As an extra, all the face buttons and directional pad are illuminated (unfortunately, not seen in this photo as it wasn't plugged in when I took the picture.)
