Surely the best version of Break Out on the Dragon to date. It received 4 Dragons from Mike Stott in 'Dragon User'. Not only do you get the addictiveness, but an up to date bonus scheme aswell. Floating down from the Bricks that you hit are Add-Ons such as Lasers, Powerballs, Catchers, Extra Speed for your Bat and Slowing Down the Ball. These are just a few of the great features used in the very popular Arcade Coin-Op 'Arkanoid' which was a great success when converted to other 8 Bit and 16 Bit computers.
There are 30 screens full of deviously placed Bricks, each one requiring a different method to complete. Then after all that you are sent to the final confrontation on Level 31. Little is known about this screen, but it is said to be the best by those who have seen it.
The game comes complete with its very silly story line incorperated in to a scrolling loading message. It has the best possible graphics that can be used in a Brick shape, and fabulous sound effects adding to even moreto the atmosphere of this great game. Yet another challenging game from KOUGA.
Game written by Stewart Orchard.
Ball Dozer follows the simple breakout rule, destroy all of the bricks without letting the ball pass below the bat. However, in an attempt to make life more interesting, bonuses float down the screen at set intervals. They have the following uses.
C - Catch the ball next time it hits your bat
! - Allows your bat to move at double speed when fire is pressed
L - Gives your bat a lazer P - Gives your ball extra power
Downward arrow slows down a fast moving ball for 10 seconds
Upward arrow lets you move onto the next screen (After collecting it
touch the far right wall)
Ball shape gives you an extra life
When half of the bricks have been destroyed, the ball will double in speed.
You can change the angle that the ball travels in by hitting it with the edge of your bat, rather than in the middle.
Controls - Left and right arrow keys move the bat left and right. Either shift key is used for fire. The break key pauses the game.
If your ball gets caught in an endless cycle, just change the speed of the ball by collecting a downward arrow, and wait 10 seconds. Finally, after level 30, you are confronted by a ..... Well that would be telling.
